1st Nov Theme Day: The Colour Blue

I even didn't have time to give my vote for this month's theme and just listed my blog yesterday. The colour blue feels cold to me, though, as now the temperature has dropped. 1st Sep Theme Day: Street Lights and Signs

As always, September starts with a theme day. I took this photo in Insadong (again!) and we see lights, street signs (Insadong 5(o)-gil) and even signboards of restaurants on the street. FYI, we two ways to say numbers both in Korean and Chinese. Number 5 is called 'daseot' in Korean and 'o (五)' in Chinese. In case of conveying some numerical information like street and telephone numbers, postalcode or so, we follow the latter. This is what makes non-Korean speakers confused when they learn Korean first.

1st Aug Theme Day: Typical Breakfast

This month's theme is Typical Breakfast, which could be food we normally eat in mornings or an occasion of breakfast in a place. So, I chose the latter and here is the photo of a late breakfast my family and relatives had on the way to a destination of one summer holiday. All we'd got were cooked rice, kimchi, soybean soup, two different types of side dishes, lettuce and sesame leaves to wrap rice and soybean paste. The menu was simple but this picture always makes my mouth get watered.

1st July Theme Day: The Color Red

This the first theme day I participate. When I found this month's theme, two things came across my mind and this is one of them. This is kimchi, Korea's best known food. Last year I was involved in a full process of making kimchi (I just helped my mom and grandma;)) and realised how amazing kimchi is. I will write about kimchi in my personal blog someday.
