Sauna

One of the best Korean inventions I think is 24-hour open sauna. We call it "찜질방(Jjimjilbang)."After clubbing or drinks, sometimes I go to this non-stop sauna with my friends for hot bath and a place to sleep over a night. This place is also for families so they go there and talk to each other late at night. The most brilliant part is that it ony costs 5.5 euros per night, including two towels and a clean T-shirt and shorts. Quite cheap, isn't it?

The red sign in the dark is "한증막", meaning 'sauna' and it was around 2h30.

according to my mother, jimjilbang is the best place to go when you need to relieve muscle tension (and stress). she also believes that hot bath and positive mind cure everything..:).

unfortunately, however, i can't imagine myself being in jimjilbang even for a second because i have mild breathing problem in such very warm places. no wonder i always feel stress~!

btw: thank you for your kind comment on my blog~!

I was late here for your August 1st breakfast and for the rock festival, but just in time for the sauna... Amazing a 24 hour open sauna; not even in Finland I believe!
Have a nice weekend.

I think it is a good idea. It reminds me of the hotels in Japan in the early 1950s when I was there. Those that were close to volcanic hot springs featured pools to soak in. Nice.

Sauna is very popular in North Europe, not exactly the same here. By the way you're in right it's really cheap ^^V

Youngsin - Your mother has a very good philosophy of life.;) Like you, I can't really stay long inside the sauna. So I always use sandglass.

I feel so great to have you as a regular visitor to my blog. Thanks a million!

GMG - Thank you for your visit. I'm also a little late to visit other CDBs but I think everyone welcomes my belated visit.;) You too have a great weekend.

Abraham - I haven't been to Japan and I'd love to go to some open-air ryokans there.

Fabrizio - Besides Finland, I saw Hungarian and people near the Baltic Sea enjoy sauna too.

How do you know the Korean victory emoticon, btw? I'm curious!

It's cheap indeed, I think you can get towels only for that price in the Netherlands. Thank you for your comments I appreciate it very much.
