Jongno Tower

Like every city in the world, Seoul also has some landmark buildings and Jongno Tower is one of the most striking ones in the north side of Korea. Designed by the architect, Rafael Vinoly, this building has a hollow space from 23rd to 30th floor. The letters set on the front side is '삼성증권(Samsung Securities)' that shows the owner of the building.

Sunkyoung,

Is there anything special in this tower, or the surrounding area? Or do people just go there to see the tower? I would like to go if there are restaurants or bars in the building...

Hey Rachel,

There is something special in the building and the surrounding area is also nice. I didn't have a chance to go there while I was in Seoul, but on the top floor, there is a restaurant 'Top Cloud'. Probably only during week-days, they offer lunch buffet around KRW 20K or something. I heard that their restroom is a must-see: from where you can grab a view of city centre through big window glasses. If you ever visit there, please let me know what it is really like. I also liked the Indian restaurant there, near from the bookstore.

The area itself, Jongno, is full of things you would enjoy, with good connection to popular places: palaces, Insa-dong, old markets, Myongdong, Chonggyechon etc.
